Lineman Training

I began my lineman apprenticeship in 1996, accumulating over 28 years of hands-on experience in the field. My career includes 20 years in distribution, 8 years in highline work, 1 year as a troubleman handling evening shifts solo in Kansas City, 10 years as a foreman, and 2 years as a project manager. I am also Barehand certified.

Teaching has been a cornerstone of my career, as I’ve trained apprentices throughout my journey. Now, I’m looking to teach small groups—or even one-on-one—the safest, most effective ways to master the fundamentals of linework. My goal is to help you get ahead before starting your apprenticeship by focusing on the skills and knowledge you’ll use daily.

With 14 years as a contractor, 7 years at the local REA (Co-op), and 7 years at the power company supplying Kansas City, I bring real-world expertise to my teaching. Together, we’ll cover the essentials: framing and setting poles, stringing and tying wire, setting transformers, making connections, and much more.
